What is the John D. Boyd Artist Development & Production Workshop?

The emerging artists educational and developmental workshop is led by prominent industry leaders and thinkers who have committed themselves to the mission of preparing up and coming artists to make it to the next level of their careers in the entertainment industry.

CRITERIA FOR ARTISTS TO PARTICIPATE:

1. Artists must have a minimum of 5 years of professional performing experience at a regional or national level.Artists must provide a 5-10 minute video of them performing. This may be a self-taped video or footage from a previous performance.
2. Artists must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
3. Artists must provide a professional high resolution photograph that will be utilized for promotional materials, if the artist is selected to participate.
4. Artists must submit both a 1-page biography and a short bio of no more than two paragraphs.
5.  Artists must submit a one-page or less typed response to the following questions:
   1. Why are support systems such a critical piece to an independent artist’s success?
   2. Do you have a support system? If yes, please elaborate.
   3. Who will support your journey to the next level in the entertainment industry?
   4. In what ways do you receive support from community organizations, family and friends or loyal followers on social media?
   5. Who will support you on your journey to go to the next level in the entertainment industry?
   6. How did you hear about the workshop?
